Commercial HVAC Estimator for Small Projects
Who We Are
BlueHat Mechanical is a tight-knit team that keeps commercial and industrial facilities comfortable, efficient, and reliable year round. Our reputation is built on quick response, clear communication, and solutions that deliver long‑term value to our clients.
This role offers an excellent entry-level pathway into a dynamic, high-growth industry—ideal for recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
Your Mission (Field‑First & Detail‑Driven)
Survey existing systems – A lot of your week will be spent at customer sites, surveying rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, and controls to determine the best replacement strategy.
Document with precision – Measure, photograph, and record every connection point, structural constraint, and access limitation. Accurate notes today mean fewer surprises tomorrow.
Develop accurate budgets – Work directly with vendors to confirm current pricing, lead times, and available incentives. Convert your field data into clear, well‑organized estimates covering labor, materials, equipment rentals, and subcontractors.
Identify customer value – Recommend energy‑efficient options, phased installations, or creative logistics that lower total cost of ownership and minimize downtime.
Coordinate & communicate – Present findings to project managers, vendors, and clients, addressing questions promptly and maintaining complete, orderly records of all correspondence.
Keep learning – Shadow senior estimators, study local building codes, and build your HVAC expertise through hands‑on experience and company‑funded training.
